Biography

Baraza is a Nairobi-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose work moves between Afro-fusion, soul and contemporary Kenyan sounds. Guitar, bass and piano give his songwriting a broad musical foundation.

His debut album, Just a Kenyan Boy (2020), introduced his perspective as a storyteller. The Dumba EP (2024) brought him together with Ras Amor and Mathai Njama, and featured Kimbassax. Those collaborations form part of the story behind The Babaz.

He continued his solo catalogue with WAYAYA, released on 14 February 2026. In the band, his instrumental range and soulful vocals feed a shared commitment to original Kenyan music.
